12 2900 W Ferdinand StChicago, IL 60612 533-0477 I seriously cannot even begin to tell you say what an amazing job the CW guys did at our house yesterday. Our yard was completely taken over by weeds after the neighbors abandoned their house and left the lot to go “wild”. We tried for YEARS to get it in control ourselves but it was just too big a job for us. I should also say that I originally booked them to do sod as well and then had to cancel that part with less than 48 hours notice and they were v nice about it. The CW crew we were sent did everything we talked about and much more – things I didn't even think of to ask them! Getting rid of the weeds in front of the front yard, weeding the yard itself, getting rid of as much as possible of the horrible weeds in the yard next door as they could reach , making sure to ask me about anything they weren't sure about. Even my sweetie, who is one tough customer, was hugely impressed. He kept walking around noticing new things and exclaiming about them! Basically, the guys did a better job than we even knew it was possible to do. On top of it, they were fast, polite, and conscientious. We were also so grateful that a big company that takes care of city parks also takes such good care of small homeowners. I took about a dozen photos after they left and posted them on facebook talking about the magic the team was able to work! There are many stories here of not being called back, being condescended to, be told they aren't able to do it “this season”and so on. I am adding my views to that effect. I suggest Christy Webber take a long, hard look at her customer service. I have called three times over three weeks and they have yet to call me back. Today someone actually said he couldn't say for sure but they might not be able to do it. So after three weeks, three attempts, someone tells me I have to wait for them to decide if they can do it. I think not. I am done. And BTW, I am on my condo board and we will not be using them for our very large contract. this is something they don't understand. I might be calling about a small yard, but I influence much bigger decisions. Love the service, yard looks great, but got all of neighbors mad at me because the crew is not that polite and their equipment is noisy with lots of fumes. So I tent to try to not be at home when they come to service the yard and play stupid when the neighbors complain, so I'm in the market for a better service. Bringing this up with CW got me nowhere, sadly. Their workers are not self-aware and are very rude. They smoked right in front of my window stinking up my bedroom and started working and yelling across the yard at 7am. Even after saying something they just kept going without regard. Don't hire. Update a half month later: yep they are still doing the exact same thing. We see and hear them everywhere, they get city contracts and so I guess they think they can do whatever they want. The crew working on my block parked their giant trailer and loud pollution machines in front while I endured a solid 90 minutes of obnoxious noise and fumes. But I lost my patience when one of the crew decided to use the toxic blower to clean out their filthy trailer in front of my home. Dust and all the dirt from inside the trailer was sprayed everywhere! When I asked him to stop he said “it's my job” and then continued to blow, now mind you the property they were working on was not mine, it was across the street. I guess they find it acceptable to dump their trash on the public way and other people's property. I find that completely obnoxious and intolerable. It's bad enough this huge company doesn't use greener gardening methods, but then to subject anyone around to their toxic spew is beyond bad business, it's arrogant and probably illegal. Bad business model, Bad Karma. Their time will come. Sad that I called with NO response then emailed twice to get a response saying sorry we are already full for the season from Jessica Prado. Sad you turn away new customers and basically ignore them completely! That's ok another company got our business and will continue to for your lack of customers skills and service! Christy Webber Landscapes are the ultimate professionals. From our first meeting with Tony, our landscape architect, to Trish, the PM, to the workers–who always showed up and were always on time. That seems to be a challenge for many in the home service industries, so it was a very welcome change for us. Once we decided on the final design, it only took about two weeks to schedule the project and then about two weeks (give or take due to our changes) to finish Phase One. It was an extremely pleasant experience to work with Tony and with Trish and we will be continuing Phase Two this spring. Thank you for being incredibly reliable and such a pleasure to work with. We are so appreciative of your hand holding throughout and look forward to working with you this Spring! I called and left a voicemail, requesting an estimate for a major planting in front of our large multi-unit condo building. I had to call a second time to be told that they are at capacity, and are not taking on any more clients. While this can happen, the onus should not be on the potential customer to figure this out on his own. This is unprofessional to say the least, and it goes without saying that as an officer of my condo association, I will share my opinion with all who ask. Designer Daniel Gerdes and a crew of skillful and respectful gardeners carefully moved well-established plants from my old home to my new one. My new garden is far more than I ever expected. I went from weeping at the loss of my award-winning garden one day to dancing in my new gorgeous garden three days later. I've been a client of Christy Webber for many years, before that I used them when I was an association manager. It was their great work on the properties I managed that made me consider them when I needed a company to take care of my investment property. Everything is well maintained and they take care of it all, from time to time they'll drop me an email with some recommendations when extra things could use to be done. No high pressure sales pitch. I use them for landscape maintenance, although I did get the opportunity to see my neighbors yard where they did a whole updo to it, it was a small space that they incorporated many good ideas. I haven't talked to Christy in years, although the last time I did her company was small, but even then you could sense her dedication to her craft, you could tell that her company was on the way up and it proves that if you work hard enough at something, it will grow. Also not impressed. The account manager was a 'no show' for our scheduled appointment and did not call to explain why he wasn't there. I called the office and was told this account manager would call me back, but I never heard a thing. I wrote a followup email to management out of courtesy in the event they were unaware of this type of problem, but again no response. It is understandable if smaller residential accounts are not Christy Webber Landscapes' desired demographic. But then don't make an appointment, let your potential customer arrange his/her day to meet with you, and then fail to show up. I guess I should have guessed the driving motivation of the firm when I heard an 'account manager' was going to meet me to evaluate the yard and discuss our plans, rather than a 'landscaper'. Snobby service. I came in and the service seemed very helpful. Once told our budget, she almost immediately ran off and never addressed us again. No thanks.
